The Daily News-Record will publish wedding and engagement announcements in color on Saturdays in Saturday Magazine. The announcements will be paid, at $18.20 a column inch. All announcements must be prepaid before publication. We accept cash, check and credit cards. We will confirm your announcement via phone or e-mail and let you know the cost by Friday, the week before publication.
To submit an announcement, it must be received by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, ten days prior to the publication date. Announcements may be submitted online here or in person from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Daily News-Record office, 231 S. Liberty St., Harrisonburg. Click here to see samples and pricing guidelines.
Omit anything you don’t want to be published. Space is provided at the bottom of the form for additional information. You may e-mail Alicia Sisk at awotring@dnronline.com your announcement written in your own words in lieu of this form. Announcements may be edited for style, however, the content will appear as submitted to the Daily News-Record.
A photograph of the couple or bride may be submitted. Either black and white or color is acceptable, although color is preferred. A .jpg, at least 200 dpi, may be submitted with your online announcement or e-mailed to Alicia Wotring Sisk at awotring@dnronline.com. Please include both names of the couple in the subject line. For a print copy, please mail it to Celebrations, P.O. Box 193, Harrisonburg, VA 22803 or drop it off at the Daily News-Record office. Please include both names of the couple. The photo does not need to be the exact size. It can be digitally cropped. Photographs will be returned if a self-addressed, stamped envelope is included. The photograph may also be picked up at the Daily News-Record office after it appears in the paper.
Please include full names of all parents and wedding party members. Also indicate if parents are divorced and should be listed separately. Where addresses are requested, the town, city or state, if not in Virginia, will suffice.
For announcements submitted online, a Daily News-Record staff member will call to verify the information. We reserve the right to reject, revise or edit photos or information deemed unsuitable for publication. |
