SHENANARTS will hold auditions for “The Outsiders” from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Aug. 28 at the ShenanArts nTelos Theatre, 300 Churchville Ave., Staunton. Materials for readings will be supplied. All The Rest:

2nd ANNUAL ELKTON IN BATTLE will be held on Aug. 28 and 29 at the Elkton Area Community Center, Blue and Gold Drive. Event is a recreation of Stonewall Jackson’s 7,000 troop encampment of May 1862. Activities on Aug. 28 include: a pancake breakfast from 7-10 a.m.; camps open to public at 9 a.m.; tours of Jackson Headquarters on Rockingham Street from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; a calvary demonstration at 11 a.m., followed by an artillery demonstration at noon and tactical battle reenactment at 2 p.m.; a pig roast will be held at 4 p.m., followed by Glick and Phillips at 7 p.m.; additional entertainment from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Entertainment on Aug. 29 includes: public camp openings at 9 a.m., followed by a calvary demonstration at 11 a.m. and an artillery demonstration at noon; tours of Jackson Headquarters on Rockingham Street from noon-2 p.m. A tactical battle re-enactment will be held at 1 p.m.  Schedule subject to change.
